David Ure Sempai

David Ure has always had a very keen interest in martial arts since he was 6 years old and first started Judo as a junior where he achieved his blue belt. In David’s late teenage years, he started practicing Muay-Thai for several years and achieved his brown singlet in this martial art.

David was originally attracted to Aiki Jujutsu because of the subtleness of the martial art but also how effectively it is to blend and use the attacker’s energy against them. One of the most major aspects that David is fascinated about is that size and strength is irrelevant, it really is a martial art than anybody can practice at any age.

David Achieved his Shodan ( 1st Degree Black Belt ) on the 22nd March 2020, under the instruction of Leigh Dicker Shihan ( 5th Dan ) of whom David trains with on a regular basis to continually learn, grow and develop on this journey that is Aiki Jujutsu.

David’s focus is on his students that all share the same passion for Aiki Jujutsu and for the students to grow and develop together, with the guidance of Leigh Dicker Shihan making regular visits to the Ballarat Dojo this has been achieved to a very high standard. David is excited about the bright future that there is for the Ballarat Dojo and its students.
