Japan’s Triple Disaster, Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear Meltdown
We send our thoughts and prayers for the people of Japan as they come to terms with the disasters and loss of life that have recently occurred in the Sendai region of Japan. The fourth largest earthquake in recorded history (9.0 on the Richter scale) and accompanying tsunami and nuclear power station failures that have rocked Japan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese people at this very trying time.
Japanese Takumakai students and teachers are fortunate to be mainly located in the Kansai region of Japan (southern Honshu) and have largely escaped these recent events. We never the less stand with them in grief at the scale of these recent events in Sendai (Northern Honshu). Events such as these serve to remind us of the fragility of and preciousness of life.
